Welcome to the Diamond Q Ranch. Owned by Bill and Carol Quisenberry, these several acres of
rolling pasture are home to some of the best Paint and Quarter Horses in the country..
The first breed to be created in America, the Quarter Horse was originally bred by colonists. It was
to be a compact and well muscled horse, perfect for the hugely popular quarter mile sprints. Mixing
Arab, Turk, and Barb breeds resulted in a highly versatile and prized animal, which went west as
America expanded. There it proved to have the strength, stamina, and "cow sense" to aid settlers
in ranching. Today, the American Quarter Horse is capable of excelling in diverse conditions, from
cutting competitions to rodeo competition. Paint Horses were a result of interbreeding between spotted horses brought to the Americas by the
Spanish conquistadors and the wild mustangs. The descendants of those early spotted horses feature coats that are a combination of white and another color, usually spotted or patched. Highly valued by the Native Americans for their unique coloration and intelligence, Paint Horses are still
popular today. They are known for their athletic ability and agreeable dispositions. To view our
